Empowerment Workshops 

WE1A currently facilitates workshops within local jails and prisons to assist and support women who have experienced traumatic  situations in their lives causing unhealthy decision making which has led to incarceration.   

Workshop facilitators creatively engage participants in discussions that promote and encourage acceptance of past experiences. A non-clinical assessment of one's situation comes through the mandatory written assignments completed by all particpants.  The facilitators provide feedback with realism to the series of events indicated in the assignments.  The successful process of forgiveness becomes the end result towards building a healthy and renewed mindset.

WE1A's "Help Us, Help You" Initiative

WE1A offers a program to college students who are majoring in Criminal Justice, Human Services, Sociology, Psychology, and other majors/minors that service the public.  WE1A believes students can become most effective when exposed to multiple facets of human behavior and activity.  We welcome passionate students who are willing to facilitate our curriculm in correctional settings to further produce well-rounded professionals, and earn internship credits for your service.  We encourage you to contact your Career Advisory Center to request this service for your university and offer you the opportunity to set you apart from others in your field.  Help Us, Help You to become the success you're working towards.   

Transitional Living Program

WE1A will soon begin preparation for our Transitional program for women who will benefit from an alternative living environment.  WE1A wants to offer the best possible opportunities in an effort to provide women with uninterupted services.  We'll create an environment that will enable you to maintain your focus on a successful transition as well as options for relocating to create new associations of your people, places, and things.

WE1A facilitates an After Care Group on Saturdays from 9am-11am for continued support for women who have been released from jails and prisons to provide ongoing focus towards goals set for success with productive living free from incarceration.  This environment is a group setting and all women are welcome to attend.  We discuss various topics that women encounter on a day to day basis.  

We want to encourage, support and embrace your difficulties as well as share your testimony of successful transistion which can be beneficial to others. 

Individual Counseling

WE1A has collaborated with a local mental health agency.  This service provides individual counseling and support to enable the best possible outcomes for successful transition to community living and address missing components that hinder the ability to move forward productively.  This service is offered after release.
